Another struggle to get out of bed.
Another morning rush in the MRT.
Another breakfast.
Another email to reply.
Another task to complete.
Another lunch.
Another meeting to attend.
Another deadline.
Another conference call.
Another rain.
Another sunshine after the rain.
Another end of office hours.
Another workout.
Another friend to meet.
Another dinner.
Another TV show.
Another facebook session.
Another sleep.

Ortu gue tuh sering banget bilang ke gue "Ngapain sih lo bela2in temen? Emang kalo lu susah, temen bakal nolong? Inget ye, lu tuh gak boleh bergantung sama orang laen..... pokoknya kalo masih bisa dikerjain sendiri, kagak usah minta tolong ama temen". Kalo udah dibilangin gitu, most of the time sih gue bakal diem aja, soalnya mau ngomong apa juga percuma.... yang ada ntar malah jadi ribut.

Statement itu sebenernya sih ada benernya ada engganya juga. Menurut gue, temen itu penting. Lu gak bakal bisa deh hidup sendiri..... bosen kali! Kayak quote yg di film About A Boy, "no man is an island". Tapi sejauh apa sih kita perlu berkorban buat menjaga pertemanan itu?

Kayak misalnya, banyak ada beberapa temen gue yang kadang2 agak suka memaksakan kehendak. Contohnya hari ini...... ada "temen" gue yang ngajakin dinner di satu tempat. Trus gue bilang gua gak mau. Menurut gue ya itu hak gue dong kalo gue gak mau ikut, whatever the reason is. Pas dia tanya kenapa, ya gua jawab jujur "gue lagi gak pengen makan itu". Selesai dong harusnya. Tapi...... biasanya sih dilanjutkan dengan kalimat2 seperti berikut:

1. Kenapa sih gak mau pergi sama gua / kita? Gitu deh....

2. Emang lu ada acara laen?

3. Ayolahhhhh, lu kan baek.....

4. Jadi gak mau nih?

5. Repeat step 1-4 for about 5 times

Maap ye kalo ada yang ngerasa tersinggung sama post gue ini, tapi ya beginilah cara pikir gue. Lagian kalo berasa diomongin, mendingan ngaca dulu deh. Kalo gak punya kaca, beli sono di IKEA! =P

Chinese New Year

So I'm now back in Singapore after a short 4 days visit back home for Chinese New Year (CNY). For those of you who don't know, this year CNY falls on 14th February, which is also Valentine's Day. So it's supposed to be a double celebration.

But for me, somehow this year I'm not really in the mood of celebrating. First of all, this year is year of the Tiger. And according to the chinese predictions, apparently tiger doesn't get along well with monkey. I was born in 1980, thus my chinese zodiac is monkey. Well, I don't really believe in all these things, but still, it's not a good thing to hear someone say that you will have a miserable year ahead.

Secondly, I feel that there's no achievement or anything to be proud of this year. Somehow I feel like I'm at a standstill, not much difference if you compare year-on-year.

Oh yeah, and I haven't found my significant other yet. That sucks, too.

Oh enough complaining for now! Enjoy this beautiful song to lift up your mood. It surely makes me smile every time I hear it :)

EYE-ARRRRR

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past year, you probably would have heard about the 2 IR (Integrated Resort) that is slated to open in Singapore this year. It has been creating buzz and excitement throughout the island, especially after a gloomy 2009, with the recession and all...

Last weekend me and my boliao friends went to check out the first one that opens its doors to public recently, the Resort World Sentosa. It was mentioned in the news that they have opened 4 out of 6 hotels and also some shops there, including “the only Victoria’s Secret shop outside of the US”. Here are some pictures we took from there.

As you can see, there are still much constructions going on in the area, and there’s really nothing much there now. It’s just another media gimmick to attract people and get some money rolling in first….. so kiasu! Even the VS store is pathetically small, and doesn’t carry the whole range….

Stay tuned for the official opening, where they will have Universal Studios inside the complex….

As for the other IR (Marina Bay Sands), no official date has been confirmed, but here’s a link to see a sneak peek of how it will look like on the inside. Can't wait to see the 'LV Island and Cafe' :)

Annoying Things in Life

Inspired after last Sunday’s mass, here are the list of things in life that I find annoying :
1.Children crying, screaming, and running around at church on Sunday mass
2.Crowded and smelly MRT on peak hours and weekends
3.Racialism and seniority-ism (is there even such a word?) in the office
4. Friends who forgot my birthday and never buy me presents
5.Money no enough
6.Johnny Depp (sorry guys, I just don’t get him!)
7.The fact that I will get fat if I eat everything and don’t exercise regularly

and the list goes on…..
